Island) The sender of the postcard wrote in french "Le point
blanc, à la droite de l'Ilot, indique l'ancienne case de
Dreyfus, actuellement celle d'Ulmo" : The white point, on the
right of the island, marks the former Dreyfus' hut, now used by
Ulmo. Dreyfus and Ulmo were both jewish officers of the French
Army jailed on this island but Dreyfus was innocent and Ulmo, a
drug adict, was guilty.

plane was shot down, he was captured and later executed by the
Germans (The grave is marked with a christian cross an not a star
of david because during World War One in the French Army it was a
common practice to mark the graves of soldiers of all religion
burried on the battlefield with a cross and later make a
appropriate graves).
